Let’s Train: Strength Guide for Runners is one of the workout guides in our Let’s Move training program. This 4 week guide can be used during marathon training, half marathon training or running in general.

 

Over the years, we have seen the importance of strength training while running. Building a strong body is important when logging lots of miles- it helps to avoid injuries, improves running form, and improves running speed.

 

This guide includes 12 different workouts that are spread across 4 weeks. The plan includes upper body, lower body and full body training days. There is a video link with each workout for you to check out if you are unsure of a move.

 

NOTE: this plan doesn’t include running mileage. There is a workout glossary full of our favorite muscle specific moves at the end of the guide for you to have in case you want to create your own workouts down the line.
